I came.

Also, how is this on the front page while still under judgement?

Oh well, it was headed there anyway.

Huh..

Is it just me, or is Louis awfully white?

The choice of stick animation was.. Unfitting. And it was a bit pointless even for a short. That said, the animation itself was actually quite smooth. So a modest 6/10 for the decent enough stick animation, I s'pose. With the amount of detail you put into that carbine, I can't help but wonder why you didn't make the rest of the animation look as good. Oh well.

Nice go anyway. Still had to laugh at chalk white Louis. :X

StealthBeast responds:

I dunno. Is it just me, or is Zoey awfully red?

I trace about in great detail alot of weapons. It's easy really. The rest of the movie stay simple.

This. This was brilliant.

You have my five, and my ten. What more do you want?

Well, how about my word that I plan to adapt this to a minigame?:X

I watched a few other of your animations. Gravity's Just a Theory 2, thanks to the front page. Then COLOURS, and then I watched this. I must admit. I liked COLOURS more than GJAT2, but this easily topped them both. I got a little bored of GJAT2 and COLOURS because although both cute, they lacked something to keep my attention. The graphics were good, but not aural enough to hold my attention all alone. This on the other hand made up for what it lacked in graphics with good humor. The shoop lazar particularly caught me off guard and I nearly woke up some family laughing :X

My only complaint is that the dance was not as well done as it could have been. Everything else was fine. But this has inspired me to pick up making games. I've wanted to for a while now, but this definitely pushed me over the edge. And I think making a minigame out of this would be a great way to start. I hope you don't mind. When it's done, I'll let you know, and give you a link to it. Thanks for the inspiration, Oggy. Job well done. :D

Oggy-cheese responds:

I'm glad you liked it and I was able to inspire you! Good luck with the game, I look forward to playing it :D

Simply excellent. Simple flaws. Namely, jumping into one block openings can be extremely aggravating. Particularly if you have super jump boots. I suggest making the player's collision box smaller than a full tile in the future.

PestoForce responds:

Tap jump instead of holding to do a mini-jump.

Well, I saw you used my song.

So I definitely had to come and check it out.

It's not bad. The art is great. All the glow is really warm and soft. The problems start with the things people have mentioned before. Due to the nature of the game, there is immense amounts of microtuning. And that's just.. Well, frustrating. I would reccomend the use of a grid of some sort so that there's only so many places and ways one can put an object and build the puzzles around that. Because as it stands, there's just too many times where one particular piece is a pixel or two off. Stopping, moving it over, starting, stopping, moving it over.. Etc. It really detracts from the fun of having the contraption work in the end.

Aside from that, though, and a few spelling errors, the rest seems pretty good. One personal complaint. My song appeared to be compressed pretty badly in comparison to the rest of the track, and on top of that, it was mislabelled "Its_Chron_Time [Box-Killa]", which made me sad. :(

jjwallace responds:

ohhh crap, dude! i didn't even see that bug.. where was it missed spelled? on the top section or on the credits? shit this is really unacceptable and rude on my part...

That was pretty damn good!

Very nice, this was very cool. I was worried it would be a direct port with downgraded graphics, but obviously this is much better than that. My only problems are that characters that use ranged attacks like Samus, if you use the MG, and press 'p' again while firing, you could pick up items from across the level lol. Nice job anyhow, I loved the music for the 'Floating Islands' level, it reminded me of some of the better Phantasy Star Online 3 tracks. If this was indeed your first game, and you are indeed 16, I applaud you, I am only 14, and I can only make audio because I can never find the time for flash. I congratulate you on your determination to accomplish this.

5/5, and favourites. Replayability 9/10. Wonderful ^^.

Aloha. You may not remember me, but I remember you. Vaguely. I was flipping through my inbox, saw we talked about one of your old songs a long time ago, decided to see what was new with you. On to the song.

Firstly, the instruments themselves are what let you down most here, I think. The use of FPC plus what sounds like Fruity Keys just don't create the ambience I think you were looking for. The drums are also a little overpowering, and while some of the rolls and such are nice, I think a more electronic kit would have provided a better atmosphere. Next is the use of effects. I think a little more airy reverb with a longer tail and some better balancing of the levels would have created a much wider and dreamier soundscape. Lastly, I'd have dropped the tempo a few notches, which would have suited the progression better in my opinion and should help alleviate the James-Bondesque tone. :P

Going from there, with a more defined melody, you could have advanced the progression into a climax and carried it on into a pretty solid ambient techno piece with airy tones and a driving rhythm. Overall, not bad. Not something I'd put on my phone, so it's not quite.. There, as a piece. And it's not really usable in an sort of scene, really. It's a shame, because there's actually a good foundation here for something much grander, and it's obvious that you have a solid grasp of what you're doing.

Hope you keep at it, mate. :D

What the BLOODY DEVIL IS THIS?!

This is certainly not the Karco I remember. I was sort of bummed there wasn't something newer to review. The production values on this are very nice. The melodies are sweet and simple. A touch melancholic, but that's good. Strangely Christmasy, but that could just be the season working its magic.

There isn't too much for me to say here.. I haven't reviewed anything in ages. I hope you're still writing music though, mate.

This was good stuff, even if it's not your usual bag of tricks-- if anything, I think diversifying is great.

Something like this, but a bit darker, and stretching into your usual techno/electro stylings could be a pretty awesome second half to this piece, but alas.

If you still remember who I am, perhaps we can get to talking again some time.

Merry Christmas, my friend!

Karco responds:

Glad you like it. :) Haven't been writing too much music but that might change when I have some time this summer. Thanks for the kind words!

This is unbelievably good. I've listened to your stuff off and on for a while now. This is just really excellent. It simply oozes character, and it's got a healthy heaping of downright badass beats. Some nice upbeat chunks, and it all just flows together incredibly well. It's pretty rare I hear something I think couldn't honestly be any better, but I have no qualms here.

Unless you can count wishing there was more as one, anyway.

If anyone wants a review on a particular song, feel free to PM me, I'll be happy to leave you a few comments, any style, no prob. Just leave me to review a song or two, no "Come and review my music plz!" ok? Haha, we have a deal then? :P
