Damn..
I could have sworn I threw a review to this song.. Guess not. Haha, well I'm here now.
*Bows*
Right, right.. The bird samples.. Beautiful. The bell, well, beautiful. Piano, read description of the bell. Everything flowed together so flawlessly. And that harp (I believe) playing the ascending notes, magnificent. Perfect little add in for that full sound, the same goes for that sitar(?).
The strings, they remind me of HeXeN actually, very much so. With an ominous, yet interesting mellow following rhythm. There is one sample near the end that I didn't quite care for.. The whooping bird, or whatever it is, haha. It's to bright I think, but it still fits nicely.
Contrary to what others are saying, I think that louder drums would effectively ruin the natural feel. This is a forest, not a concert hall.
At parts this song feels almost aquatic, and indeed I think it would make a great epic, with rain storms rolling in half way through and fading out with a calm creeping in the wake of the downpour.. Very interesting visuals from this. And it just wouldn't be complete without those strings.
Excellent layering, excellent job overall really. This was incredibly enjoyable, and you can rest assured that I've fifened this song with all my might. :D
It's on every piece of hardware I own with the ability to play music. And even some stuff that normally doesn't.. (DS :P)
Great job RGH! I'll review another when I have a bit more time, as for myself, I would really appreciate a review on my two newest, especially my 'Sunken Ship - Preview', which I have renamed 'Spirit Galley' for the full version, but as for right now, it is in dire need of some guidance. Oh and please note.. The part with the slowed piano has already been changed due to some reviews from a couple of buddies, so that part has already been dealt with ^^.
Good luck!
